Removing the Keyboard

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. Base Cover

    2. Battery

  3. Release the keyboard by prying the tabs on the palmrest assembly. Figure displaying how to remove keyboard from the computer.
  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Lift the keyboard from the computer [1].
    2. Flip the keyboard to access the keyboard cable [2].

  5. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Lift the locking tab [1].
    2. Disconnect the cable from the locking tab [2].
    3. Disconnect the keyboard cable from the computer [3].
