Removing the Base Cover

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the computer [1].
    2. Pry the base cover along the edges to loosen it [2].

  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Lift the base cover partially at a 45–degree angle [1].
    2. Remove the base cover from the computer [2].
