Removing the system fan

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

  3. To remove the system fan:
    1. Disconnect the system fan cable [1] and power cable [2] from the system board.
    2. Unroute the power cable from the holder to access the system fan screw [3].
      • NOTE: Disconnecting the power cable is optional. For easy removal of the system fan, it is recommended to disconnect the power cable.

    3. Remove the screws that secure the system fan to the computer. Lift the system fan away from the computer. Figure displaying how to remove the system fan from the computer
