Removing the heat sink

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. system fan

  3. Unroute the WLAN antenna cables from the routing channels on the system board. Figure displaying unrouting the WLAN antenna cables from their channels on the system board.
  4. Loosen the captive screws that secure the heat sink to the computer and lift the heat sink from the computer. Figure displaying loosening the captive screws that secure the heat sink to the computer and removing the heat sink from the computer.
