Removing the System Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. memory

    4. heatsink

  3. Disconnect the following cables from the system board [1] [2]:
    1. keyboard
    2. touchpad
    3. LED board
    4. network and speaker [3]
    5. hard-drive assembly [4]
    6. coin-cell battery and power-connector port [5]
    7. display [6]

  4. Perform the following steps to remove the system board from the computer:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the system board to the computer [1].
    2. Remove the system board from the computer [2].
