Installing the power button with optional fingerprint reader
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the power button with optional fingerprint reader and provide a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- Place the power button with optional fingerprint reader into its slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Adhere the fingerprint reader flexible printed circuits to the connector on the system.
NOTE This step applies only to computers shipped with a power button with fingerprint reader installed.
- Align the screw hole on the power button with optional fingerprint reader to the screw hole on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Replace the two screws (M1.6x1.7) to secure the power button with optional fingerprint reader to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.

- Install the system board.
- Install the heat-sink.
- Install the
WWAN card.
NOTE This procedure applies only to computers shipped with a WWAN card installed.
- Install the M.2 2230 solid-state drive or the M.2 2280 solid-state drive, whichever applicable.
