Removing the tweeters and palmrest antenna assembly
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
- Remove the microSD card.
- Enter the service mode.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the heatsink assembly.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the tweeters and palmrest antenna assembly and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the single (M2x2) screw securing the WLAN card bracket to the antenna cables and remove the bracket from the computer.
- Disconnect the WLAN antenna cables from the WLAN module and unroute the cable from the guides on the system board.
- Remove the two (M2x2) screws securing the display cable bracket to the system board and disconnect the display cable.
- Disconnect the camera, touch screen, sensor board cables from the system board and unroute them from the guiding tabs on the tweeters.
- Disconnect the tweeter cable from the audio board.
- Peel back the mylar tape securing the tweeter cable to the keyboard bracket.
- Peel the tape securing the tweeter cable to the audio board FFC and I/O board.
- Pry and remove the tweeters or with palmrest antenna assembly from the computer.
