Removing the coin-cell battery
CAUTION: The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in
Before working inside your computer.
CAUTION:Removing the coin-cell battery resets the BIOS setup program's settings to default. It is recommended that you note the BIOS setup program's settings before removing the coin-cell battery.
- Remove the SIM card.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the wireless card.
- Remove the 4G WWAN card or 5G WWAN card, as applicable.
- Remove the battery.
- Remove the assembly-inner frame.

- Disconnect the coin-cell battery cable from the coin-cell battery connector (RTC1) on the system board.
- Peel the coin-cell battery, along with its cable, off the palm-rest assembly.
