Removing the ethernet port

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the microSD-card.
  3. Remove the SIM card tray for 4G LTE enabled systems.
  4. Enter the service mode.
  5. Remove the base cover.

Steps

  1. Remove the four (M2.5x5) screws to secure the hinge bracket on the palmrest assembly.
  2. Lift the hinge in upward direction away from the palmrest assembly.
  3. Remove the two (M2x5) screws that secure the ethernet on the I/O board.
  4. Lift and remove the ethernet from the I/O board.
