Removing the coin-cell battery
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in
Before working inside your computer.
CAUTION Removing the coin-cell battery resets the BIOS setup program's settings to default. It is recommended that you note the BIOS setup program's settings before removing the coin-cell battery.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the 3-cell battery or the 4-cell battery, whichever applicable.

Steps
- Disconnect the LED daughter-board flexible flat cable and coin-cell battery cable from the respective connectors on the system board.
- Using a plastic scribe, pry the coin-cell battery off its slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
