Installing the WLAN-antenna module
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the WLAN-antenna module and provide a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- Slide and place the WLAN-antenna module into the WLAN-antenna module slot on the system board.
- Replace the two screws (M2x2.5) to secure the WLAN-antenna module to the system board.
- Route the WLAN-antenna cables into the routing guides on the system board.
- Connect the WLAN-antenna cables to the WLAN-antenna module.
The following table provides the antenna-cable color scheme for the WLAN-antenna module supported by your system.

- For computers shipped with 4G antennas, place the WLAN-antenna module bracket in its slot on the system board.
- For computers shipped with 5G antennas, align the screw holes on the WWAN shielding cover with the screw holes on the system board.
- For computers shipped with 4G antennas, align the screw hole on the WLAN-antenna module bracket with the screw hole on the system board.
- For computers shipped with 5G antennas, replace the three screws (M2x2.5) to secure the WWAN shielding cover to the system board.
- For computers shipped with 4G antennas, replace the screw (M2x2) to secure the WLAN-antenna module bracket to the system board.
