Removing the LCD with bezel and the display back cover assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. Batteries
    2. Bottom chassis cover
    3. WLAN card
    4. WWAN card
    5. PCIe heatsink assembly
    6. Docking port assembly
    7. Heatsink
    8. Hinge covers
    9. Display assembly
  3. CAUTION Four M2.5 screws on the bottom near the hinges are epoxy coated screws. Exercise caution when loosening the screws, to avoid a possible stripped screw head.
    Loosen the 12 'M2.5' screws from the back cover.

  4. CAUTION The following epoxy screw locations will require additional focus. These screws are difficult to remove and there may be damage during the removal process. To prevent damage to the screws and surrounding plastics, please use the correct screwdriver for each screw type.
    Remove the four 'M2.5' epoxy screws securing the bezel to the back cover [1] and pry at bottom edge to separate the two subassemblies [2].

  5. Peel off the tape on the LCD connections [1] and open the connector [2] to disconnect the EDP cable [3] from the LCD.
  6. Peel off the tape on touch connector [4] and disconnect the EDP cable from the connector [5].
