Installing the system board

Connect the system board connector cable to the system board and turn it around.
Align the system board into the chassis until it is firmly seated.
Install the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
Install the screws that secure the DisplayPort press latch doors to the computer.
Connect the display cable to the system board.
Install the screws that secure the metal bracket to the display cable on the system board.
Turn the computer over and connect the cables under the keyboard to the system board.
Install the:
1. SIM board
2. WWAN card
3. WLAN card
4. GPS module
5. ExpressCard
6. heat sink
7. GPU module
8. RF holder
9. GPS holder
10. memory module
11. optical drive
12. docking board
13. base cover
14. keyboard
15. keyboard door
16. hard drive or SSD
17. battery
- NOTE: When the service technician replaces a system board, he should set the service tag once the system starts up. This is a one time effort. If you fail to set the service tag, the system battery will not charge. Therefore, it is very important that the service technician sets the correct system service tag. If a wrong service tag is set, there is no way to reset it and the technician will have to place order for another system board.
