Removing the ExpressCard module

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. hard drive or SSD
    4. optical drive

  3. To remove the ExpressCard shroud:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the ExpressCard shroud [1].
    2. Lift and remove the ExpressCard shroud from the computer .

  4. To remove the ExpressCard board:
    1. Disconnect the ExpressCard board connector cable from the system board [1, 2].
    2. Remove the screws that secure the ExpressCard board [3].
    3. Lift and remove the ExpressCard board from the computer [4].
