Removing the fingerprint reader board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery

    2. hard drive or SSD
    3. base cover

    4. ExpressCard

  3. To remove the fingerprint reader:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the fingerprint reader cover [1].
    2. Lift the cover and remove it to expose the fingerprint reader board [2].
    3. Lift the release tab and disconnect the fingerprint reader cable [3, 4].
    4. Lift and remove the fingerprint reader board from the computer [5].
