Removing the I/O board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery

    2. hard drive or SSD
    3. keyboard

    4. base cover

    5. docking board

    6. optical drive

    7. memory module

    8. GPU module

    9. heat sink

    10. ExpressCard

    11. GPS module

    12. WLAN card

    13. WWAN card

    14. SIM board

    15. system board

    16. Smart card reader

  3. To remove the I/O port:
    1. Open the I/O port press latch door [1, 2].
    2. Remove the thumb screws that secure the I/O port module to the computer [3].

  4. To remove the I/O board:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the I/O board module to the computer chassis [1].
    2. Lift and remove the I/O board module from the computer [2].
