Removing the touchpad buttons

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. hard drive

    4. SSD card

    5. SSD frame

    6. WLAN card

    7. WWAN card (optional)

    8. chassis frame

  3. Lift the latch and disconnect the smart card reader board cable from the connector [1].
  4. Peel the smart card reader board cable from the palmrest [2]. Removing touchpad
  5. Disconnect the touchpad button cable from the connector on the system [1].
  6. Remove the two M2x3 screws that secure the touchpad button on the computer [2] and lift the touchpad button from the system [3]. Removing touchpad
