Removing the heat sink assembly

  • NOTE: This procedure is only for the UMA model. In the discrete model, heat sink is secured to the system board with four screws.
  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the :
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. hard drive

    4. SSD card

    5. SSD frame

    6. WLAN card

    7. WWAN card (optional)

    8. chassis frame

  3. To remove the heat sink :
    1. Disconnect the system fan cable from the connector on the system board [1].
    2. Remove the six (M2x3) screws that secure the heat sink assembly on the system board [ 2].
      • NOTE:
        • Remove the heat sink assembly screws in sequential order as indicated on the heat-sink assembly.
    3. Lift the heat sink assembly from the system . Displays the removal of heat sinkDisplays the removal of heat sink
