Installing the speakers

CAUTION:The information in this installation section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation process.

About this task

The following images indicate the location of the speakers and provide a visual representation of the installation procedure.

Steps

  1. Using the alignment posts, place the left and right speakers into their slots on the palm-rest assembly.
    NOTE:Ensure that the rubber grommets are positioned correctly.

  2. Route the speaker cable and white antenna cable through the routing guides on the palm-rest assembly and the assembly inner frame.
    NOTE:The wireless card main antenna is bundled with the speakers as a module. When installing the module, first route the speaker cable along the bottom side of the palm-rest assembly, into the routing guide on the left side of the assembly inner frame, and underneath the white wireless main antenna cable. Route the white wireless main antenna cable in the cut-out and along the top side of the assembly inner frame.
  3. Connect the speaker cable to the connector (JSPK1) on the system board.
