Removing the coin-cell battery

CAUTION:The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the nanoSIM card.
  3. Remove the base cover.

About this task

WARNING:Removing the coin-cell battery resets the BIOS setup program's settings to default. It is recommended that you note the BIOS setup program's settings before removing the coin-cell battery.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the coin-cell battery cable from the connector (JRTC1) on the system board.
  2. Remove the coin-cell battery cable from the routing guide on the fan.
  3. Peel the coin-cell battery and lift it along with its cable from the system board.
