Removing the coin-cell battery
CAUTION:The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the nanoSIM card.
- Remove the base cover.
About this task
WARNING:Removing the coin-cell battery resets the BIOS setup program's settings to default. It is recommended that you note the BIOS setup program's settings before removing the coin-cell battery.
The following image indicates the location of the coin-cell battery and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Disconnect the coin-cell battery cable from the connector (JRTC1) on the system board.
- Remove the coin-cell battery cable from the routing guide on the fan.
- Peel the coin-cell battery and lift it along with its cable from the system board.
