Removing the battery

CAUTION:The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the nanoSIM card.
  3. Remove the base cover.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the battery cable from the connector (BATTERY) on the system board (if not disconnected earlier).
  2. Loosen the five captive screws that secure the battery to the palm-rest assembly.
  3. Lift the battery off the palm-rest assembly.
  4. Turn the battery over and peel the tape that secures the battery cable to the battery.
  5. Remove the battery cable from the routing guides on the battery.
  6. Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the battery.
