If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation process.

NOTE:For computers shipped with a 5G WWAN card, the WWAN card thermal pad must be transferred to the replacement system board.

NOTE: The system board includes a USB Type-C bracket, which must NOT be removed.
NOTE: For computers shipped with a U15 system board, the system board includes a power shielding cover, which must NOT be removed.

Steps
Align the screw holes on the system board with the screw holes on the palm-rest assembly.
Replace the three screws (M2x4) that secure the system board to the palm-rest assembly.
Replace the three screws (M2x5) that secure the USB Type-C bracket to the palm-rest assembly.
Connect the USH cable to the connector (JUSH1) on the system board and close the latch to secure the cable.
Route the camera/IR cable through the routing guide on the system board.
Connect the camera/IR cable to the connector (JIR1) on the system board.
Connect the touchpad cable to the connector (JITP1) on the touchpad module and close the latch to secure the cable.
Connect the display cable to the connector (JEDP1) on the system board.
Align the screw holes on the display cable bracket with the screw holes on the palm-rest assembly.
Replace the two screws (M2x3) that secure the display cable bracket to the palm-rest assembly.
Connect the fingerprint reader cable to the connector (JFPBTN1) on the system board.
Align the screw hole on the fingerprint reader bracket with the screw hole on the palm-rest assembly.
Replace the screw (M2x3) that secures the fingerprint reader bracket to the palm-rest assembly.
