Removing the base cover

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery
    2. hard drive
    3. optical drive
  3. To release the base cover:
    1. Unlock the I/O latch door [1].
    2. Lift the latch door to open it [3].
    3. Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the computer [3].
