Removing the display assembly

1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the:
   1. battery
   2. hard drive
   3. optical drive
   4. base cover
3. To release the display assembly:
   1. Lift the latch [1] and disconnect the I/O cable from the connector on the system board [2].
   2. Remove the screws that secure the metal tab [3].
   3. Lift the metal tab to access the eDP cable [4].
   4. Disconnect the eDP cable on the system board [4].
   
4. Peel the adhesive tape [1] [3] and disconnect the display cables from the connectors [2] [4].
   
5. Remove the screws that secure the display assembly [1] and flip the computer [2].
   
6. Open the display and lift the display assembly away from the computer.
