Removing the speaker

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. Base cover
    2. Battery
  3. Disconnect the WWAN antennae cables.
    NOTE:For systems with 4x4 WWAN, the right speaker is pre-attached with WWAN antenna, and the WWAN antenna cannot be separated from the speaker and must be replaced together.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the speaker cable from its connector on the I/O board.
  2. Remove the speaker cables from the guide path.
    NOTE:The speaker cable is secured with an insulation tape on the touchpad buttons.
  3. Lift and remove the speakers from its slot on the palmrest assembly.
