Installing the base cover
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the base cover and provide a visual representation of the installation procedure.
NOTE:
If battery is not a pre-requisite and if you have disconnected the battery cable, ensure to connect the battery cable. To connect the battery cable, follow step 1 and step 2 in the procedure.
Steps
- Connect the battery cable to the system board.
- Adhere the tape that secures the battery cable to the battery.
- Align the tabs on the base cover with the slots on the system and snap the base cover to the palm-rest assembly.
- Tighten the eight captive screws to secure the base cover to the palm-rest assembly.
