Installing the touchpad
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the touchpad and provide a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- Align and place the touchpad module into the slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Align the screw holes on the touchpad module to the screw holes on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Replace the six screws (M2x2) to secure the touchpad module to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Adhere the adhesive shielding cover over the touchpad.
- Connect the keyboard backlight-cable to the connector on the touchpad module. .
- Connect the keyboard-cable to the connector on the touchpad module close the latch.
- Connect the touchpad cable to the connector on the system board and close the latch.
