Add an NDMP host

You must add an PowerScale cluster as an NDMP host before you can back up data with Symantec NetBackup.

Create an NDMP user account.

  1. In the NetBackup Administration Console, expand Media and Device Management.
  2. Under Media and Device Management, expand Credentials, and then click NDMP Hosts.
  3. Click Actions > New > NDMP Host.
  4. In the NDMP Host Name dialog box, specify the cluster that you want to back up data from.
    • If you have a single Backup Accelerator or a Fibre Attached Storage node in the cluster, type the fully qualified domain name, host name, and the IPv4 or IPv6 address of the Backup Accelerator node or Fibre Attached Storage node.
    • If you have multiple Backup Accelerator nodes or Fibre Attached Storage nodes in the cluster, type the name of a SmartConnect zone that contains only the Backup Accelerator nodes or Fibre Attached Storage nodes.
    • If you are performing a three-way NDMP backup, type the fully qualified domain name (FQDN), host name, SmartConnect zone, and the IPv4 or IPv6 address of any node in the cluster.
  5. Click OK.
  6. In the Add NDMP Host box, click Use the following credentials for this NDMP host on all media servers.
  7. In the Username and Password fields, type the user name and password of an NDMP user on the cluster.
  8. Click OK.
