You can configure and start a file list backup from your data management application (DMA).
You should have already specified and saved the list of files to be backed up in an ASCII text file.
Configure a file list backup from your DMA as you would any backup, but with a few additional steps as described in the following procedure.
Copy the file list to the
OneFS file system on the
PowerScale cluster containing the files to be backed up.
For example, if the directory that you specify in the
FILESYSTEM environment variable is
/ifs/data/projects, you could place your file list at
/ifs/data.
In your DMA, specify the
BACKUP_FILE_LIST environment variable to be the full pathname of the file list that resides on the
PowerScale cluster.
For example, if the file list was named
proj_backup.txt, and you placed it at
/ifs/data, specify
/ifs/data/proj_backup.txt as the full pathname of the file list.
Start your backup as you normally would.
The files in your file list are backed up as specified.
