With NetWorker, you must create a client that specifies the data to be backed up from an
PowerScale cluster. If you are creating a client using NetWorker 9.0 and later, you must enable the diagnostics mode to set the storage node. Furthermore, to perform a two-way backup, the storage node must be set as the name of the Backup Accelerator node or Fibre Attached Storage node.
Connect to the NetWorker server from the NetWorker Management Console Server.
On the
Enterprise tab, select a NetWorker server name and double-click.
Click
Launch NetWorker Administration.
In the NetWorker administration window, click
Protection.
To configure a new client, right-click
Clients and select
New to open the
Create Client window.
Configure a client through the
General tab.
In the
Name field, type a name or IP address for the client.
In the
Save set field, type the full path of the directory that you want to back up.
From the
Pool list, select the name of the data media pool you created.
From the
Protection group list, select a group that you created previously.
Configure a remote user through the
Apps & Modules tab.
In the
Remote user field, type the name of an NDMP user you configured on the cluster.
In the
Password field, type the password of the NDMP user.
Select
NDMP and then, in the
Backup command field, type the following backup command:
nsrndmp_save -T tar
In the
Application information field, type the NDMP environment variables that you want to specify.
The following text enables directory-based file history and direct access restores (DAR):
DIRECT=Y
HIST=F
For a complete list of available options, see NDMP environment variables.
