PDF

Google Cloud Platform

CloudPools can store data on Google Cloud Platform, a public cloud provider.

CloudPools supports Standard, Nearline, and Coldline storage types on Google Cloud Platform. Google Cloud Platform must be set to interoperability mode.

To configure Google Cloud Platform in interoperability mode, use the Google Cloud Platform interface as follows:

  1. Log in to Google Cloud Platform.
  2. On the main dashboard, choose Storage > Settings > Interoperability.
  3. Follow the prompts to create an interoperable storage access key and secret.

You can now configure Google Cloud Platform as the provider in OneFS CloudPools. The following information is required:

  • Google Cloud URI
  • For username, use the Google Cloud interoperable storage access key.
  • For key, use the Google Cloud secret for the access key.

You may also specify the storage region. Google offers multiple storage regions in the U.S. and other areas of the world. If you do not choose a storage region, the default storage region for Google Cloud Platform becomes the storage region for CloudPools.
