Obtain and activate a CloudPools software license

The CloudPools software module requires a license.

Running CloudPools requires the activation of these software module licenses:

• SmartPools
• CloudPools

If your current OneFS license does not include CloudPools and SmartPools, contact Customer Support or submit a service request (SR). See the PowerScale OneFS Web Administration Guide for procedures to add software modules to your license, generate a new license activation file, and submit the activation file to the Dell EMC Software License Center (SLC).

A signed license file is returned to a responsible person in your organization through email. To activate the licenses, upload the signed license file to OneFS.. You can upload the file from either the web interface or the CLI, as described in the following topics.
