Create and manage cloud storage accounts

A cloud storage account provides OneFS with the information it requires to connect to a remote cloud storage provider. You can create and edit one or more cloud storage accounts in OneFS.

Before creating a cloud storage account, you must establish an account with one of the supported cloud providers. OneFS attempts to connect to the cloud provider using the credentials you provide in the cloud storage account. To specify a proxy server with the cloud storage account, first create the proxy server with the isi cloud proxies create command.

After you create a cloud storage account, you create a CloudPool that uses the cloud storage account. A CloudPool is a storage container that OneFS can use to store data. OneFS enforces the following relationships between cloud storage accounts and CloudPools.

  • Each cloud storage account can only belong to a single CloudPool storage container.
  • A cloud storage account and the CloudPool must have matching types. The type values identify the cloud provider, such as azure.
