Gather diagnostic log files

In OneFS 9.8.0.0 and later, you have three new ways to gather diagnostic log files.

  • You can specify individual targeted groups to gather.
  • You can start a gather based on a specific time range with a timestamp for smaller, targeted gathers.
  • You can start a gather based on a specific time range with a time interval (days, weeks, or hours).
  1. To start a diagnostic log gather, click Cluster Management > Diagnostics > Start Gather.
  2. On the Start Gather page, click Gather Group.
  3. Select the group or groups to gather in the log files.
  4. To gather log files based on a specific time range, click Cluster Management > Diagnostics > Start Gather.
  5. Click Time Range and then click Gather Begin.
  6. Select the date and time that you want the gather to begin, and then click Start Gather.
  7. To gather log files based on a specific time range with a time interval (days, weeks, or hours), click Cluster Management > Diagnostics > Start Gather.
  8. On the Start Gather page, click Time Range and then click Gather Past.
  9. Select one of the choices in the Select Type drop-down box: Days, Weeks, or Hours.
  10. Specify a value for the choice that you selected (days, weeks, or hours). For example, if you selected hours, and you want to gather logs for the past four hours, then enter 4 in the Value field.
  11. Click Start Gather.
