Building reports overview

Customize how information is shown in a report.

You can modify all reports based on a range of dates. You can create customized Performance reports by adding and removing Performance modules, breakouts, and filters.

Date ranges allow you to limit the data based on a start and end date. The date interval, also called a Zoom Level, can be automatically set to intervals of 30 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, and 1 month. Custom date intervals can be created by specifying the beginning and ending day and time.

Performance modules are preconfigured collections of information about the monitored cluster. You can add and remove Performance modules to all Performance reports.

Breakouts divide a data set into component parts but do not limit the information presented.

Filters limit the information in a data set. With a filter, the data set is refined to simplify what is in a report. Filters can exclude data that can be repetitive or irrelevant. Different types of filters can be used to amend information results. A generated report often produces a large and complex data set. Filtering can make the report results more understandable. A filter can contain one or more filter rules. Filters can be saved and applied to more than one report.

NOTE If InsightIQ is monitoring a OneFS 8.2.0 cluster, the statistics, breakouts, filtering, and report data might not display properly.
