Upgrade paths

To upgrade from InsightIQ 4.1.2 and earlier usually requires a clean install of the operating system. The process to upgrade from InsightIQ 4.1.3 may depend on how it was originally installed.

NOTE

* When upgrading from version 4.1.2 and earlier to version 4.1.3 and later, you must typically export data, perform a clean install of the Linux OS, install the new version of InsightIQ, then re-import the data. This is because the newer versions require Linux version 7.x, and there is no upgrade path from Linux 6.x to Linux 7.x.

† InsightIQ 4.1.4:

If you originally installed InsightIQ 4.1.3 using a script file (.sh): You can upgrade Linux and then perform an in-place upgrade to InsightIQ 4.1.4.
If you originally installed InsightIQ 4.1.3 using a virtual machine template (.ova) file: You must export InsightIQ data, upgrade Linux, reinstall InsightIQ, and then import the InsightIQ data.
The InsightIQ 4.1.4.60 Patch 2021-04 requires the InsightIQ 4.1.4 release. First, upgrade to InsightIQ 4.1.4, then install the patch.
