When you install InsightIQ on a virtual machine (vm), you have two methods available: create a vm, or use an existing vm.
You can install InsightIQ on a virtual machine that meets the following minimum hardware specifications:
It is recommended that you use the .ova install package (InsightIQ Installation File for VMware ESX, VMware ESXi, or VMware Workstation).
The OVA installer prepares a virtual machine with the correct version of CentOS, with many settings preconfigured, and runs on any of the following virtual environments:
