Dell InsightIQ 4.3.0.0 Administration Guide

PDF

Specify the InsightIQ port

Specify the port through which InsightIQ connects.

About this task

By default, InsightIQ runs on the standard HTTPS port of 443.

InsightIQ also listens on the standard HTTP port of 80, but this port is only used to redirect users to the HTTPS port, allowing users to type in a URL in a browser without explicitly adding the port number.

To run InsightIQ on a different TCP port you must modify two different configuration files, make the necessary firewall updates, and then restart InsightIQ.

Steps

  1. Open an SSH connection to the InsightIQ virtual machine and log in.
  2. In a text editor, open the /etc/isilon/insightiq.ini file, and specify the values for the following options.
    OptionDescription
    redirect_from_port The standard non-secure HTTP port. This value should be set to 80.
    redirect_to_port The secure HTTPS port used to connect to InsightIQ. The default value is 443.

    You must have root permissions to modify the /etc/isilon/insightiq.ini file. If you are logged in the InsightIQ administrator account, you can gain root access by beginning a command with sudo.

    Save and close the /etc/isilon/insightiq.ini file.

  3. Update the port number used in the SSL certificate: In a text editor, open the /etc/isilon/uwsgi.ini file, and update the port number:
    https = [::]:<port_number>,/etc/ssl/certs/server.crt,/etc/ssl/certs/server.key,HIGH
    Save and close the /etc/isilon/uwsgi.ini file.
  4. Restart InsightIQ by running the command iiq_restart.
