Installing the power button

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation process.

Steps

  1. Slide the power-button cable through the slot on the front of the chassis.
  2. Press the tabs on the power button and insert the power button through the slot on the front of the chassis until the power button is secure in place.
  3. Connect the power-button cable to the connector on the system board.

Next steps

  1. Install the hard-drive and optical-drive cage.
  2. Install the 3.5-inch hard drive or 2.5-inch hard drive.
  3. Install the front cover.
  4. Install the left-side cover.
  5. Follow the procedure in After working inside your computer.
