Procedure

  1. Disconnect the power-adapter port cable from the system board.
  2. Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
  3. Open the latch, and disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board.
  4. Open the latch, and disconnect the keyboard-backlight cable from the system board.
  5. Open the latch, and disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board.
  6. Open the latch, and disconnect the hard-drive cable from the system board.
  7. Using the pull tab, disconnect the I/O-board cable from the system board.
  8. Disconnect the coin-cell battery cable from the system board.Image: Removing the system board
  9. Remove the two screws (M2x2) that secure the system board to the palm-rest assembly.
  10. Slide and lift the system board off the palm-rest assembly.Image: Removing the system board
