Installing the I/O board
Prerequisites
CAUTION:The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation process.
About this task
The following image(s) indicate the location of the io board and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- Align the screw holes on the I/O board with the screw holes on the system board and palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Align the ports on the I/O board with the slots on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Note
- Place the I/O board on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Replace the M2x3 screw to secure the I/O board to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Connect the I/O-board cable to the I/O board.
- Close the latch and replace the clear adhesive tape.
- Connect the fingerprint-reader cable to the I/O board and close the latch to secure the cable.
- Connect the coin-cell battery from the I/O board.
- Close the left display hinge and align the screw holes on the left display hinge with the screw holes on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Replace the two screws (M2.5x5) to secure the left display hinge to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
