Procedure

  1. Open the latch and disconnect the power-button cable from the system board.
  2. Open the latch and disconnect the touch-pad cable from the system board.
  3. Remove the two screws (M2x5) that secure the palm-rest assembly to the computer base. Image: Removing the palm-rest assembly
  4. Close the display and turn the computer over.
  5. Remove the four screws (M2x5) that secure the palm-rest assembly to the computer base. Image: Removing the palm-rest assembly
  6. Lift the computer base and using a plastic scribe, release the tabs on the palm-rest assembly from the slots on the computer base. Image: Removing the palm-rest assembly
  7. Turn the computer over and open the display as far as possible.
  8. Lift the palm-rest assembly off the computer base. Image: Removing the palm-rest assembly
