Procedure

  1. Using the pull-tab, disconnect the display cable from the system board.
  2. Disconnect the power-adapter port cable from the system board. Image: Disconnecting the cables from the system board
  3. Turn the computer over and open the display.
  4. Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
  5. Peel the tape that secures the I/O-board cable to the system board to open the latch and disconnect the I/O-board cable from the system board.
  6. Disconnect the I/O-board power cable from the system board.
  7. Open the latch and disconnect the status-light board cable from the system board.
  8. Disconnect coin-cell battery cable from the system board. Image: Removing the system board
  9. Lift the system board at an angle, slide and release the ports from the slots on the computer base. Image: Disconnecting the cables from the system board
  10. Remove the speakers.
  11. Remove the heat sink.
