Procedure

  1. Remove the screw that secures the optical-drive assembly to the computer base.
  2. Using a plastic scribe, push the optical drive through the slot to release the optical-drive assembly out of the optical-drive bay.
  3. Slide the optical-drive assembly out of the optical-drive bay.

  4. Carefully pull the optical-drive bezel and remove it from the optical drive.
  5. Remove the screws that secure the optical-drive bracket to the optical drive and remove the optical-drive bracket.
