Removing the power button

CAUTION:The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the SD card.
  3. Remove the base cover.
  4. Remove the wireless card.
  5. Remove the I/O board.
  6. Remove the display assembly.

Steps

  1. Remove the single (M2x2) screw securing the power button to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  2. Remove the power button from the computer.
