Removing the I/O daughter-board
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the secure digital card.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the wireless card.
- Remove the display assembly.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the I/O daughter-board and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the two screws (M2.5x5) that secure the right hinge in place to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Lift the right hinge away from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly to access the I/O daughter-board.
- Lift the latch and disconnect the I/O daughter-board flexible flat cable from the connector on the I/O daughter-board.
- Lift the latch and disconnect the fingerprint reader flexible printed cable from the I/O daughter-board, if applicable.
NOTE: This step applies only to systems shipped with a fingerprint reader installed.
- Remove the three screws (M2x3.5) that secure the I/O daughter-board in place to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Lift the I/O daughter-board off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
