Installing the 2.5-inch hard drive

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

Steps

  1. Align and slide the hard drive into the hard-drive bracket.
  2. Align the screw holes on the hard-drive bracket with the screw holes on the hard drive.
  3. Replace the four screws (M3x3) to secure the hard drive to the hard-drive bracket.
  4. Connect the interposer with the cable to the hard drive.
  5. Align and place the hard-drive assembly along with the interposer and cable on to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  6. Align the screw holes on the hard-drive assembly to the screw holes on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  7. Replace the four screws (M2x3.5) to secure the hard-drive assembly to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  8. Connect the hard-drive flexible flat cable to the system board and close the latch to secure the cable.
