Installing the M.2 2230 solid-state drive

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation process.

NOTE This procedure applies if you are installing a M.2 2230 solid-state drive.

NOTE Depending on the configuration ordered your computer may support the following M.2 cards in the M.2 card slot:

The following images indicate the location of the M.2 2230 solid-state drive and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.

Lift the Mylar off the system board.
Align the notch on the M.2 2230 solid-state drive with the tab on the M.2 card slot on the system board.
Slide the M.2 2230 solid-state drive into the M.2 card slot on the system board.
Place and slide the M.2 2230 bracket on the system board, aligning the notch on the M.2 2230 bracket to the groove on the M.2 2230 solid-state drive.
Replace the screw (M2x2.5) that secures the M.2 2230 bracket to the system board.
Adhere the thermal tape over the M.2 2230 solid-state drive and bracket.
Place the Mylar over the M.2 2230 solid-state drive.
