Procedure

  1. Loosen the three captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  2. Remove the 6 screws (M2x5) that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.

  3. Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly, starting from the top-left corner of the computer base.
  4. Lift the base cover off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.

    NOTE The following steps are applicable only if you want to further remove other components from your computer.
  5. Peel the tape that secures the battery cable to the system board.
  6. Peel the tape that secures the battery cable connection to the system board.
  7. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.

  8. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to ground the computer and drain the flea power.
