Procedure

  1. Open the latch, and disconnect the touch-pad cable from the touch pad.
  2. Lift the transparent film on the palm-rest assembly. Image: Removing the touch-pad cable
  3. Peel the tapes that secure the touch-pad board to the palm-rest assembly.
  4. Remove the screw (M2x3) that secures the touch-pad bracket to the palm-rest assembly.
  5. Release the touch-pad bracket from the tab, and lift it at an angle. Image: Removing the touch-pad cable
  6. Remove the six screws (M2x3) that secure the touch-pad board to the palm-rest assembly.
